Conservative Workers and Trade Unionists (CWTU) welcomed Prime Minister Theresa May’s Conference Speech to delegates on Wednesday 5th 2016 in which she spelt out her Conservative vision for the working people of Britain.
The Prime Minister set out an answer to her own question: “What’s my vision for Britain”? CWTU supporters were delighted that her answer contained the following:
“…we are the party of workers. Of those who put in the effort. Those who contribute and give of their best.”
“That’s why we announced on Saturday that we’re going to review our laws to make sure that, in our modern and flexible economy, people are properly protected at work. That’s right. Workers’ rights – not under threat from a Conservative government. Workers’ rights – protected and enhanced by a Conservative government.”
“And let us take this opportunity to show that we, the Conservative Party, truly are the party of the workers… the party of public servants… the party of the NHS. Because we believe in public service. We believe in investing in and supporting the institutions that make our country great.”
These are the values emblazoned on the standards of the Conservative Party today and CWTU supporters will be at the forefront of efforts to remind the people of our great country that only Conservatives are authentically the party of one nation.
